UNS S31803, F51, 1.4462 duplex stainless steel is designed to combine improved resistance to stress corrosion cracking, pitting, crevice corrosion and high strength when compared with other stainless alloys. Duplex UNS S31803, F51, 1.4462 duplex alloy resists chloride environments and sulphide stress corrosion. Duplex UNS S31803, F51, 1.4462 is also roughly double the strength of standard austenitic stainless steels. These attributes mean that Duplex UNS S31803, F51, 1.4462 can be used successfully as an alternative to standard stainless steel specifications in applications where higher strength and resistance to stress corrosion cracking is required. Duplex UNS S31803, F51, 1.4462 is also referred to as 2205. |
